RALEIGH, N.C., Jan. 12, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) --
Camp Corral, a free summer camp for children of wounded, disabled or fallen military service members, today announced that registration for its 2016 summer camps is now open at www.campcorral.org. The organization is also kicking off a $50,000 Fifth Anniversary fundraiser with the goal to send more military kids to camp next year.
“The Fifth Anniversary Campaign demonstrates our continued commitment to helping military families,” said Mary Beth Hernandez, Camp Corral CEO. “This is the fifth year that Camp Corral will have the opportunity to serve our nation’s heroes, and it’s a result of the overwhelming support and contributions of donors. We’re excited to welcome our 2016 campers, and we hope to offer more military children this experience next summer.”
Camp Corral partners with accredited YMCA and 4-H camps across the nation, providing kids non-stop fun with activities like canoeing, ropes course challenges, horseback ridings, archery, and other outdoors activities. Since its first summer camp session in 2011, Camp Corral has served over 10,000 military children at 23 partner camps in 19 states.
Camp Corral’s 2016 camps will run from July 3 through Aug. 20 in the following states: Oklahoma, Minnesota, Texas, South Carolina, Colorado, Kansas, Michigan, Ohio, New York, Indiana, Arizona, North Carolina, California, Florida, Illinois, Kentucky, Washington, Pennsylvania, and Virginia.
