Bungie Promises Large-Scale Changes To Destiny 2, More End-Game Incentives

Players of Destiny 2 have been increasingly feeling like the developer Bungie has been ignoring their criticisms of the game, which culminated in so much outrage, a planned stream of the expansion Curse of Osiris was actually canceled. In place of the stream is an announcement of the different changes that the developers are going to implement to give end-game players more incentive to keep playing.

These upcoming changes are detailed in a blog post by Luke Smith and Chris Barrett, the game’s directors. The pair acknowledged the hail of criticisms from players of Destiny 2 and have noted that Bungie needs to be more open to its consumers. The duo also writes that these updates will make sure gamers will have more reasons to keep playing the game after the main story.

“Going forward, Destiny 2’s post-launch game systems, features, and updates are being designed specifically to focus on and support players who want Destiny to be their hobby – the game they return to, and a game where friendships are made. We want Destiny to be a game that fits into your life, providing you with reasons to log in and play with your friends, clans, and families. We want Destiny to be a world you want to be a part of,” the post reads.

Now, it’s worth noting that these updates will come in incrementally and spaced out throughout December. On December 5th, the update will involve more Armor Ornaments for a few existing armors, Gamespot reports. There will also be more Rare Mods that can be acquired from Banshee while Legendary Engrams can be bought from Master Rahool.

The most exciting updates, however, will arrive on the December 12th rollout, which will allow players to acquire Masterworks Legendary weapons. Some of the perks include an actual kill-count display that is made using the weapon and can even produce Orbs after multi-kills.
