“Brooklyn Nine-Nine” season 6 is coming soon and NBC just confirmed this. This is good news as the show was almost canceled for good. Fortunately, the said broadcasting network saved it after Fox let it go after just five seasons.
Now that Captain Raymond Holt (Andre Braugher) and his team have found a new home, their hilarious story will continue. “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” season 6 promises the same brand of comedy while the group solves crimes and catch the bad guys in their district.
Then again, moving to a new home is not a totally happy occasion as one of the show’s mainstays is quitting. It was previously confirmed that Chelsea Peretti who plays Gina Linetti in the series is set to leave and it will happen in the early episodes of “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” season 6.
The actress revealed early last month that she will not be able to continue her stint in “B99” and she will not be doing the full season for the sixth installment. Although she did not mention any reason, it can be assumed that she wants to have more time with her family thus she reduced her workload. Then again, she said that she is saying goodbye now but suggested that she can still make a comeback in the future.
So how will her exit be? As per Dan Goor, Brooklyn Nine-Nine” season 6’s showrunner, Gina will leave in a “Linetti-esque way” while Melissa Fumero (Amy Santiago) shared that her departure is epic.
“It’s such a great Gina episode. Her grand finale is with Amy and Rosa, as it should be,” Fumero told TV Line. “She has stuff with everybody, but they paired her with us [at the end] and we had so much fun shooting that last week. It was bittersweet and sad and we definitely cried happy tears.”
Meanwhile, “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” season 6 is returning to primetime TV on Jan. 10, 2019 at 9 p.m. on NBC.
