PORTSMOUTH, N.H., Feb. 11, 2016 -- Bottomline Technologies (NASDAQ:EPAY), a leading provider of cloud-based payment, invoice, digital banking and healthcare solutions today announced that its Healthcare Privacy and Data Security solution has expanded capabilities that enable hospitals to better protect themselves and their patients data from the growing threat posed by the misuse of valid user credentials.
Bottomline Technologies’ enhanced user behavior analytics, profiling and risk scoring engine allows healthcare organizations to more effectively detect user behavior changes, showing the shift from appropriate use to inappropriate reconnaissance and data collection in real-time. Through the use of advanced statistical modeling, the solution also adaptively learns what is considered ‘normal’ behavior and leverages an advanced risk scoring engine to immediately alert the organization when user behavior deviates from acceptable levels.
“Healthcare organizations typically rely on log files to audit user behavior, but this approach is time consuming, reactive, and does not provide sufficient depth of data to detect suspicious activity effectively,” said Craig Jones, Senior Vice President and General Manager for Healthcare at Bottomline Technologies. “With Bottomline Technologies’ innovative technology, healthcare organizations can now analyze a user’s behavior in real time within the context of other employees and peer groups to minimize false positive alerts and prioritize investigations.”
