“Big Bang Theory” Gets Renewed For Two More Seasons; Know How Much Each Of The Cast Earns Following Salary Negotiations

Early this week, CBS and Warner Bros finalized the deal that would have “Big Bang Theory” renewed to two more seasons.

The deal was the finish line to the months-long negotiations, particularly with the original cast members Jim Parsons, Johnny Galecki, Kaley Cuoco, Kunal Nayyar and Simon Helberg, who has since struck new deals with CBS. The deals will have all five on board for a whopping 48 episodes, taking in over USD139 million each, Digital Spy said.

The five has since agreed to take a USD100,000 paycut in support of their two co-stars, Mayim Bialik and Melissa Rauch, OK! Magazine said. Negotiations are still underway with Bialik and Rauch, who has long established themselves as season regulars on the show. Bialik and Rauch are reportedly asking for salary parity, which makes sense when you compare their salaries (USD175,000-USD200,000 per episode to the original five’s salary at a grand USD1 million per episode.

Vulture, on the other hand, deduced that if Bialik and Rauch agree with the USD500,000 free money from the original five, they are expected to get a salary bump, allowing them to earn around USD450,000 per episode each, totalling USD27.7 million for Bialik,  and USD31.3 million for Rausch.

Cynthia Littleton for Variety said apart from putting in the work hours, the two actors deserved it. She noted, “Given the extraordinary gesture by Bialik and Rauch’s co-stars, the pressure is on Warner Bros. to find a path to making the pair feel fairly valued for their contributions to the show. Bialik earned four consecutive supporting comedy actress Emmy noms for her work as Amy Farrah Fowler, girlfriend of Parsons’ Sheldon Cooper. Rauch is a fan favorite whose marriage to Helberg’s Howard Wolowitz, and birth of their first child, has been a central storyline for the past three seasons.”
