Ben Affleck’s pals are reportedly worried over the actor’s new movie because they think it will push him to drink again and get into full alcohol relapse. Based on reports, the actor’s upcoming flick, “Torrance,” can lead Jennifer Garner’s ex back to drinking because it tells the story of a former high school basketball star whose career and marriage were destroyed due to alcohol addiction.

According to Radar Online, the movie’s plot hits too close to home since Ben Affleck recently completed his four-week rehab stint for alcoholism.

“Ben has his heart set on winning another Oscar,” the source supposedly told the magazine. “He can identify with the character’s tortured soul.”

The tipster went on to say, “This guy is like the mirror image of Ben and this role will pull him straight back into the dark hole he’s trying to pull himself out of!”

National Enquirer (via Gossip Cop) seemed to corroborate the report when it stated that Ben Affleck wants to win another Oscar so he decided to act in a movie where he can really identify with the character’s tortured soul.

But Gossip Cop debunked the report that Ben Affleck’s friends are worried that he will have a relapse when his new movie is released. The publication claimed that the source or sources who supposedly provided info about the actor are untraceable and this means the quotes in the report were fabricated.

Furthermore, GC stated that they reached out to Ben Affleck’s representatives and someone who is in charge told them that the story is not true. In fact, the actor’s friends love the script for “Torrance” and they think it fits Ben well.

Meanwhile, Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner finally finalized their divorce earlier this month. The couple will have shared custody of their children, Violet, 12, Seraphina, 9, and Sam, 6.
