SUNNYVALE, Calif., Jan. 17, 2018 -- Roost, a leader in Home Telematics for property insurance carriers, today announced it has entered into an agreement with Bankers Insurance Group. In a strategic agreement focused on increasing new business growth, First Community Insurance Company, a subsidiary of Bankers Insurance Group, will offer each new homeowners insurance policyholder a Roost Smart Water Leak and Freeze Detector for use during their policy term free of charge*. Those that choose to take advantage of the offer and install the Roost Detector in their home will receive up to a 5% discount on their homeowners policy annual premium.
With this progressive move, Bankers Insurance Group is taking advantage of the industry’s most innovative home telematics platform, and pairing the effort with up to a 5% premium discount incentive. Through the new technology deployment of Roost Smart Detectors, each new policyholder will be better able to help mitigate the cost and hassle of water leak claims. At the same time, Roost continues to grow its reputation as the leading smart sensor notification platform, and customer engagement solution of choice, among a growing list of insurers.
“Roost’s Home Telematics and Smart Sensor solutions allows Bankers a great way to drive new enrollment across the competitive state of Florida by connecting with our policyholders through a valuable engagement tool,” said Judy Copechal, President, Bankers Insurance. “More importantly we are excited to bring our customers this tool which not only helps mitigate their risk of water loss but also provides them an immediate price discount at the point of sale.”
The award-winning Roost Smart Water Leak and Freeze Detector is designed to sense water leaks as well as humidity and freezing temperature situations. It then will deliver smartphone alerts via the Roost app to help minimize water damage and loss. This smart Wi-Fi enabled detector sets up in less than 5 minutes and is easily located in places around the home that are most prone to water leaks such as sinks, hot water heaters, toilets and various appliances.
“An expert in the specific insurance needs of Florida residents, Bankers Insurance is always looking for ways to capture new business and to better serve its policyholders,” said Roel Peeters, co-founder and CEO of Roost. “By employing Roost’s Home Telematics solutions, Bankers will be taking advantage of our best technology to both mitigate loss and deepen engagement with their new policyholders.”
Roost’s Home Telematics solutions are changing the way insurers engage with their policyholders, mitigate fire & water claims and drive new business growth.
