BYD Auto Co., Ltd. unveiled its latest electric vehicle, named the “BYD Shark.” It is an electric pickup truck that features a cutting-edge off-road system. It was predicted that with the truck’s sleek design and unmatched technology, it would immediately make waves in the EV market.
BYD, a China-based electric vehicle maker, confirmed on Monday, April 22, that its electric pickup truck is called the “BYD Shark.” The company further revealed it will have a plug-in hybrid system called the DMO or Dual Mode Off-Road, which was developed to improve off-road driving experiences.
BYD’s Introduces Its Electric Truck
As per Republic World, BYD unveiled its new EV through social media. In its official Weibo account, a Chinese microblogging site equivalent to Twitter (X) and Instagram, the EV maker posted photos of the BYD Shark. However, the company did not provide key details, such as the price.
It was noted that the company’s introduction of its new electric pickup truck comes just a few days ahead of the anticipated Beijing Autoshow, which is slated to begin on Thursday, April 25. Business observers said this is a strategic move to emphasize BYD’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of EV technology and fulfilling the changing consumer demands.
Special Features and Specifications of BYD Shark
Australia’s Car Sales reported that based on the images that were published on social media, BYD Shark’s interior and exterior feature square motifs, with almost every detail having straight lines and sharp angles. This design is reportedly intended to give the BYD EV an “Americanized” look.
There are two wide-screen displays, one for the driver and the other for the central multimedia display. They were installed at a two-level dashboard with dual glove boxes and bulky control knobs.
