BURLINGTON, Mass., March 09, 2016 -- Avid® (Nasdaq:AVID) today announced that twofour54, the Middle East’s most awarded post production house, has streamlined and centralized its production processes by leveraging the advanced media management solutions from the Avid Media Suite and implementing an Avid Service Level Agreement. Harnessing the power of Avid Everywhere™, the facility can now offer its clients a reliable, flexible and cost-effective end-to-end 4K workflow based on the Avid MediaCentral™ Platform.
twofour54, a tax-free media and entertainment free zone in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, facilitates the development of Arabic media and entertainment content in the region and offers production and post-production services for film and broadcast projects.
Working with a strict budget, the facility needed to replace its infrastructure with a more streamlined and future-proof solution with additional storage capacity, in order to remain competitive, maintain its reputation for innovation and attract more filmmakers and high-end broadcast content producers.
“Our new infrastructure solution has given us an end-to-end collaborative 4K environment that enables us to maintain the high quality services for which we are renowned,” said Jamal Al Awadhi, Head of Commercial for twofour54’s film & TV services division. “We greatly appreciate the openness of the Avid solution with its ability to support third party systems, and the additional storage capacity means we can serve more customers.”
After conducting thorough research, twofour54 upgraded its media production infrastructure with Interplay® | Production and Interplay | Archive asset management systems, and implemented Avid MediaCentral | UX, the cloud-based, web front-end for the Avid MediaCentral Platform. The team also chose an Avid enterprise storage solution that enables real-time SD, HD, and 4K collaboration and can scale up for larger projects without interrupting production. It also supports third party editing solutions including Adobe Premiere and Apple Final Cut Pro, and a wide variety of hi-res media formats including Avid DNxHR®, REDCODE 5K, 4K DCI (DPX), ProRes, XAVC, and Sony F55 RAW 4K.
twofour54 also purchased the Avid Service Level Agreement, which provides free software upgrades for Avid editing systems, enabling a cost-effective upgrade path across the facility. The enterprise solution also includes a Spectra Logic BlackPearl™ Deep Storage Gateway and a Spectra® T120 tape library for video footage archiving.
“By embracing Avid Everywhere, twofour54 is able to maintain its competitive edge and attract new customers,” said Tom Cordiner, VP, EMEA Sales, Avid. “The flexibility of Avid’s shared storage and licensing arrangements have ensured that their current needs are met while securing an open and scalable solution for future requirements.”
