VANCOUVER, B.C., July 05, 2017 -- Associa British Columbia will be hosting the “What You Need to Know about Rental Units” educational seminar from 6-8PM PT on July 26, 2017. The session will provide an overview of the Residential Tenancy Act and its implications in strata communities.
The seminar will be particularly useful to strata councils, investor owners and tenants to help them understand the expectations of current legislations and to foster a stronger sense of community between owners and tenants. The Associa rental services will also be covered to provide further information and options to investor owners.
The speakers include:
Phil Dougan – Lawyer, Access Law
Mr. Dougan has been involved in a highly diverse array of law suits and dispute resolution proceedings. From precedent setting cases in the BC Court of Appeal, to debt collection in the Provincial Court’s Small Claims Division, he sees claims regarding strata bylaws, neighbor disputes, insurance claims, debt collection, land transfers, financing, defamation, residential tenancies, wills and estate matters as well as commercial leasing.
Phil received a BA from Trinity Western University in 1990 and a Bachelor of Law from UBC in 2007. He was called to the British Columbia Bar in May 2008.
Katie Khoo - Vice President, Rental, Managing Broker, Associa BC
Ms. Khoo joined Associa in 1996 and has held several positions including general manager of the Vancouver office, vice president - operations, and vice president - client relations. In 2012, Ms. Khoo assumed the leadership of Associa’s revenue property group, focused on bringing unparalleled customer service to their rental, co-op and commercial clients.
Mr. Khoo holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce in Urban Land Economics from the University of British Columbia as well as strata manager, property manager and managing broker designations. She is also on the Strata Management Advisory Committee of the Real Estate Council of B.C.
Laszlo Antal - Business Development, Associa BC
As one of the founding members of Associa’s new construction team, Mr. Antal continues to pilot projects, enhance systems and update workflow processes to better serve his clients. His experience includes transitioning new developments from developer to homeowners, forward planning, consulting, budget planning, and warranty preparation, as well as the operation of phased, sectioned, and airspace parcel developments.
