Ariana Grande Pulls A Successful “One Love Manchester” Benefit Concert, Raises Over USD3 Million

The “One Love Manchester” concert headlined by pop star Ariana Grande had pulled in over £2.35 million—or more than $3 million in funds, according to British Red Cross. The concert, NPR said, was a sold-out affair, and was attended by around 50,000 fans. It was also broadcasted live, and drew the largest audience on TV for any program so far at 14.5 million viewers, or 49.3 percent of overall viewers, and was subsequently livestreamed on YouTube, Twitter, and Facebook.

The concert was a star-studded effort especially for Grande and her camp, whose previous concert last month was marred with tragedy when a suicide bomber killed 22 people. Majority of the attendees in the original concert were children.

Grande herself was traumatized with the event, but sent a flurry of text messages to her manager, Scooter Braun about how she needed to do something.” In an interview on Monday, Braun recalled how the concert was set up in less than two weeks, with supporting performances from Ariana Grande, Katy Perry, Justin Bieber, Coldplay, Miley Cyrus, Marcus Mumford, Take That, Robbie Williams, Pharrell Williams, Imogen Heap, Liam Gallagher, former One Direction member Niall Horan, the Black Eyed Peas (without Fergie) and Little Mix.

“”Are you ready to perform?”And she said, “I want to go back out on that stage. Without the blink of an eye, her response was, “I’m in.” Then we got to work,” Braun said.

Grande’s campe decided to resume her “Dangerous Woman” tour in Paris on Wednesday, but not before hosting a charity concert for the benefit of the victims on the weekend.

Fortune said the proceeds from the Grande-headlined charity concert brought in a total of $12 million for the We Love Manchester Emergency Fund.
