Apple Inc. (NASDAQ: AAPL) CEO John Ternus is reportedly moving quickly to reshape the technology giant, launching a broad organizational overhaul just weeks after taking the top job. His strategy focuses on speeding up product development, expanding Apple’s device ecosystem and creating a leaner corporate structure.
The changes offer an early look at how Ternus, Apple’s former hardware chief, intends to lead the company following Tim Cook’s 15-year tenure as CEO.
According to Bloomberg News, Ternus is considering eliminating layers of middle management to bring senior executives closer to engineers and other employees directly involved in product development. The flatter organizational structure is designed to make Apple more agile and encourage experimentation as competition intensifies across the artificial intelligence industry.
Ternus has reportedly told colleagues that Apple needs a faster-moving culture to compete effectively in the AI era. That approach could also reshape one of the company’s longest-standing product strategies.
Apple has traditionally relied on tightly controlled spring and fall launch schedules for major devices and software updates. Ternus is now reportedly considering a more flexible release model that could allow new Apple products and innovations to reach consumers faster instead of waiting for established launch windows.
The restructuring comes as Apple also looks for opportunities to control costs and generate additional revenue. The company’s highly profitable services division, which has become an increasingly important contributor to earnings, is experiencing slower growth.
As a result, Ternus is reportedly exploring new revenue sources while examining ways to increase profitability across Apple’s existing hardware portfolio.
The potential changes signal that Apple could enter a new operational era under Ternus, with greater emphasis on speed, efficiency and AI-driven innovation. Investors will be watching closely to see whether the restructuring translates into faster product launches and stronger growth as Apple adapts its business strategy to an increasingly competitive technology landscape.
