“Animal Kingdom” Season 4 will have a recurring character take on a more prominent role and create more tension for the Cody household. Named Angela (Emily Deschanel), the character is the former best friend of Pope’s (Shawn Hatosy) deceased twin sister, Deadline reported.
In “Animal Kingdom” Season 4, she’ll try to slink her way back into the family’s good graces, although she’s going to have a difficult time doing so. While she has some influence over Pope, J (Finn Cole) will be outright hateful towards her and Smurf (Ellen Barkin) will be keeping an eye out for her ulterior motives.
And speaking of Smurf, “Animal Kingdom” Season 4 will be exploring the backstory of this character in the form of flashbacks. Indeed, the inclusion of “Mortal Engine” star Leila George in the upcoming installment heavily points in this direction. While this hasn’t been confirmed just yet, the description of the character hits closely to that of Smurf.
“A street savvy, scrappy survivor. Janine is a nihilist who doesn’t expect to live past 30. She runs with a small crew of men a few years older than her, vets and surfers who steal to support their vagabond life on the road. She realizes very quickly that they are the ones who should be proving themselves to her.” If the speculation proves true, then audiences can expect that Smurf’s husband will also be making an appearance in “Animal Kingdom” Season 4.
Meanwhile, Adrian (Spencer Treat Clark) has been confirmed that he’ll be returning in the crime drama series. Fans of the character were worried that since Adrian was arrested in the previous installment, showrunners will write him off in “Animal Kingdom” Season 4.
But Clark himself has assured fans that this will not be the case. In fact, he’ll not be incarcerated in “Animal Kingdom” Season 4. Not straight away, at the least. Regarding the release date of the fourth installment, it’s expected to come out sometime in the summer.
