“Animal Kingdom” Season 4 is set to start filming early this year although no date has been given when exactly this will take place. The crime drama series will continue to follow the crime-filled life of the Cody household and how their actions affect the community around them going forward.
The season finale of the third installment saw Adrian (Spencer Treat Clark) getting arrested after he was caught trying to smuggle drugs out of the airport, Hidden Remote reported. Due to this development, fans who were rooting for the character thought that the showrunners will eventually write off Adrian at some point in “Animal Kingdom” Season 4. However, Clark reassured the fans that Adrian will be sticking around and the fourth installment will see him deal with the consequences of his actions.
In an interview he gave to DAMAN magazine, Clark admitted that he doesn’t know much about the plot of “Animal Kingdom” Season 4 other than the fact that his character will be doing time behind bars. Adrian’s storyline has been one of the reasons why fans are loving the series.
The third installment’s two-night season premiere reportedly garnered an impressive 4.3 million viewers and generated a million engagement on social media in the same week, Deadline reported. On average, however, the episodes in the third season only drew 1.3 million viewers. Though it could do better, the figure is nothing to sneeze at either. Fans are hoping that “Animal Kingdom” Season 4 will attract more audiences when it airs so that the possibility of it getting canceled will drastically decrease.
So far, TNT is contented enough with the show that it greenlighted the fourth installment. Other than Adrian’s trial and incarceration, the brewing tension between J (Finn Cole) and Pope (Shawn Hatosy) is also another plotline that fans are eager to see. The previous finale saw the two staring down each other, which suggests that they may be at odds in “Animal Kingdom” Season 4 or they could form an expedient partnership.
As for when the next installment will air, TNT hasn’t announced anything yet. Again, “Animal Kingdom” Season 4 is still filming or gearing up to do so. But judging by how the previous season was handled, fans can expect season four to air sometime around May or June.
