Air Busan Co’s BX 747 flights from Incheon to Bangkok will deploy the A321neo passenger jet mounted with a highly efficient engine, which is 15 percent more fuel efficient than the existing first-generation A321 model.
The flights will be operated under the eco-friendly theme “Eco Flight.”
Other eco-friendly fight initiatives of Air Busan are to equip flight attendants with tablet PCs rather than paper prints for briefing at flight preparation meetings.
Paper cups approved by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) will be used in place of plastic cups for in-flight drinking.
Instead of the current vinyl bags, green bags made from recycled hotel blankets will be used for duty-free shopping.
Air Busan, a budget carrier unit of Asiana Airlines Inc., will also provide passengers with slippers made by recycling waste fabric materials.
