WILMINGTON, Mass., July 10, 2017 -- Security Innovation, pioneers in software security training, assessments, and consulting announced the release of their Access Anywhere HTML5-based training platform. This update provides a powerful way to deliver more engaging courses more often than ever before.
Benefits of the new platform include:
- Mobile & tablet ready - works on phones, tablets, and laptops for anywhere access
- Enhanced user experience - modern and polished design; increased interactivity
- Future-ready - improves compatibility and resiliency with ever expanding technologies
- Improved modularity - ability to deliver shorter, more topic-driven modules for custom learning paths
“With today’s remote workforce it‘s more important than ever to provide engaging, targeted training that’s available when it’s needed: on-demand and without restriction,” said Lisa Parcella, VP of Product Management at Security Innovation. “Access Anywhere enables people to learn anytime, whether it’s in the office on their desktop, on their smartphone while traveling for business, or on their tablet sailing in the middle of the ocean.”
As part of the Access Anywhere launch, Security Innovation has retooled their training catalog, eliminating redundancies between courses and adding even more content, including new courses, such as:
COD 110 - Fundamentals Secure Mobile Development
This course introduces developers to the common risks associated with Mobile applications including client side injection, sensitive data handling, network transition, application patching, web based attacks, phishing, third-party code, location security and privacy and denial of service. The student is then given an overview of the Mobile application development best practices to reduce these risks including input validation, output encoding, least privilege, code signing, data protection at rest and in transit, avoiding client side validation, and using platform security capabilities as they apply in mobile environments. Included is a discussion of threat modeling mobile applications. With knowledge checks throughout, the student who completes this course will have an understanding of mobile environment threats and risks, and the programming principals to use to address them.
COD 351 - Creating Secure HTML5 Code
This course examines in depth the development of secure HTML5 code. It provides an overview of common HTML5 application vulnerabilities and threats, and presents secure coding best-practices. Upon completion of this class, participants will be able to identify ways in which the expanded attack surface introduced with HTML5 might impact your web applications. Participants will also be able to identify new security features available with HTML5, as well as countermeasures and best practices to mitigate the application’s exposure to attack.
To launch the new Access Anywhere training platform, Security Innovation is hosting a complimentary webinar: HTML5 – The Promise & The Peril on Wednesday, July 12th at 1:00pm EDT. The webinar, presented by Senior Security Instructor and Engineer, Kevin Poniatowski, will examine HTML5 security and arm development teams with techniques they can apply immediately to proactively address security in their code.
