‘Stranger Things’ season 2 may feature the return of Eleven as hinted by actress Millie Bobby Brown. The young star recently shared a photograph on social media teasing that co-star David Harbour shouldn’t be dishing more details for the incoming season. Meanwhile, the actress who plays Barb has landed another new movie deal.
According to NME, Brown recently took to Instagram to post a photograph of herself and Harbour fueling speculation of her character Eleven’s return in the much-awaited season 2 of the science-fiction and horror web television series ‘Stranger Things’. Brown was first introduced as Eleven (“El”) in the first season. Her character is a mysterious young girl with psychokinetic abilities, who befriends the series’ main child protagonists.
In Brown’s recent post, she is seen playfully cupping her hands over Harbour’s mouth. The image was captioned, “Shhhhh @dkharbour don't say a word! #s02 #strangerthings @netflix @strangerthingstv.” Harbour plays Chief Jim Hopper, the chief of Hawkins Police Department, who gets entangled in a supernatural world after being tasked at finding a missing boy.
Season 1’s finale episode, entitled “Chapter Eight: The Upside Down”, Hopper and Joyce (Winona Ryder) enter the Upside Down to find Will (Noah Schnapp) unconscious and attempt to revive him and bring him home. Meanwhile, back in the real world, El is fighting off the creature when she and the boys get attacked in school.
The creature is eventually defeated but disappears together with El. Towards the end of the episode, Hopper is seen leaving Eggos in the woods, presumably for El as these were her favorite snack. El’s fate and whereabouts remain unclear by the end of the season finale.
Co-creators Matt and Ross Duffer have continued to keep much of the incoming season’s new storyline under wraps. However, it was revealed that most of the principal cast members will be returning together with newly added ones.
Meanwhile, Shannon Purser managed to snag a movie deal, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The American actress broke through international fame for her role as the unfortunate Barbara “Barb” Holland in season 1 and has gained a cult following ever since.
It seems that Purser’s newfound fame snagged her new projects including the upcoming teen drama television series ‘Riverdale’, based on the characters by Archie Comics’, and the upcoming comedy film ‘Life of the Party’ produced by comedienne Melissa McCarthy. The 19-year old actress has also recently signed on to star in director John Leonetti’s upcoming thriller ‘Wish Upon’.
‘Stranger Things’ is a web television series created by Matt and Ross Duffer. It first premiered on July 2016 to positive reviews from critics and is scheduled to return for season 2 sometime in 2017.
