‘Poldark’ season 2, episode 8 is set to bring more trouble for Aidan Turner’s Ross and Eleanor Tomlinson’s Demelza. It will also find Ross standing trial with Dwight (Luke Norris) for their involvement in a recent smuggling trip.
The synopsis for the incoming episode posted on Carter Matt stated, “Ross and Dwight stand trial for their part in the smuggling. A new tin lode gives Ross renewed hope in Wheal Grace, but it is George who is there for Elizabeth when her mother falls ill and deals Ross a bitter blow.”
Although Aidan Turner’s Ross and Eleanor Tomlinson’s Demelza atill seem very much in love in the new season, the promo showed trouble looming ahead between the once-happy couple. By the end of the promo, Ross is seen threatening Demelza with the words, “Get out of my way.”
In the beginning of season 2, Ross was facing charges that could have ended with him being imprisoned or even hanged after his arch nemesis George Warleggan (Jack Farthing) succeeded in framing him. Demelza also did her part to go against the odds and maneuver things to try and get her husband out of the mess. Fortunately, Ross was exonerated of all charges and was given another chance to make things right not only for himself but for his relationship with Demelza.
According to Movie News Guide, Ross may have put himself in another bind by going on a smuggling trip that could land him behind bars. Ross is set to stand trial for his involvement in the smuggling expedition. It seems that although he has a knack of getting himself out of legal issues, proving himself innocent for the illegal trip may pose a greater challenge.
He may also strain things further with his wife as it seems they would have a disagreement over Elizabeth (Heida Reed), Ross’ former love. Elizabeth’s new relationship with George has gotten Ross upset as it seems his enemy may have different intentions for her.
‘Poldark’ season 2’s episode 8, directed by Charles Palmer, is scheduled to premiere on BBC one on October 23, 2016. The popular British-American television series was created by Debbi Horsfield and based on the novels of the same name authored by Winston Graham.
Season 1 first aired on the network on March 8, 2015 and ran for eight episodes. Season 2 was commissioned on April 8, 2016 and premiered on September 8, 2016. Season 3 was also commissioned even before the premiere of the second season.
