I am currently Senior Lecturer in National Security Studies at Curtin University Bentley Campus Perth. I have previously worked as Head of School at the Charles Sturt Graduate School of Policing and Security in Manly Sydney. My PhD is from UNSW while I also hold a Master of Strategic Studies from ANU and other Post Graduate Awards in Criminology and Islamic Studies. Prior to joining the Academic sector I worked in the Commonwealth Government for over 20 years. My academic interests involve Pakistan and South Asia, Islam and conflict studies. I am a current member of DFAT's Civilian response Corps and a number of Academic Associations in Australia, USA, UK and Pakistan.
