Postdoctoral research fellow, University of the Sunshine Coast
Dr Alexandra (Ali) Bec is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Sunshine Coast. Ali’s area of expertise is regional community development, particularly for tourism regions. Her research is primarily in the areas of change management, economic development and building community resilience. She is currently working on an Advance Queensland Research Fellowship looking at stimulating regional tourism through the virtual reconstruction of Queensland’s WWII heritage.
In addition, Ali has also conducted research on a range of other community issues including social welfare, emotional stability, disaster planning, social capital, and social health. She has also collaborated with the private sector and government agencies for research related to large community events including the 2018 Commonwealth Games.
