I hold a BSc (Dietetics) degree from the University of the Western Cape. My postgraduate qualifications include an MPH (Epidemiology) and a PhD (Medicine) from the University of Cape Town. I have experience in research gained during my time at the Medical Research Council where I worked on a school-based health intervention. At the Human Sciences Research Council I worked on the South African National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (SANHANES). My PhD thesis is titled: Metabolic complications resulting from the use of antiretroviral therapy in HIV infected patients.
