Haley is certified practicing speech pathologist who has worked in schools in New South Wales and Queensland since 2005. In 2018 she completed a Master of Philosophy (Education) and was awarded the AARE Postgraduate Student Researcher Award 2018 and the QUT Faculty of Education Outstanding Masters Thesis award. She is currently a PhD candidate at the Queensland University of Technology, where she is investigating the impact of teachers’ use of accessible pedagogies on the classroom experiences, engagement and academic self-concept of students with language and/or attentional difficulties. In 2022, she was awarded the Learning Difficulties Australia Tertiary Student Award and she is a university finalist in the QUT Three Minute Thesis competition. Haley is also currently a senior research assistant in the Centre for Inclusive Education (C4IE) and a Chief investigator on the Central Queensland Region Inclusion Action Research Project.
