Wen-Jui Han is Professor and Director of the PhD program of the Silver School of Social Work at New York University.

Professor Han has substantive knowledge and skills from multidisciplinary training in sociology, developmental psychology, economics, and public policy to address issues surrounding policies and services designed to enhance the welfare of children and their families. Her research interests are in the area of child care, parental employment, child and adolescent academic and health well-being, immigrants, and public policies.
She has conducted numerous large-scale nationally based research with sophisticated research methodology. Professor Han is known for her work in addressing issues surrounding policies and services designed to enhance the well-being of children and families by conducting cutting-edge and high quality scholarly work.

Professor Han is currently collecting longitudinal data on the physical, socioemotional, and academic well-being of children currently attending elementary schools in Shanghai, China under the auspice of the NYU-ECNU Institute for Social Development at NYU Shanghai. This project is expected to be expanded to other parts of China to create a data depository for scholars around the world to advance the knowledge about the contextual factors in contributing to healthy and positive development for children in contemporary China. Her work has been published in highly-regarded peer-reviewed journals in various disciplines including demography, developmental psychology, public health, public policy, and social work and has received numerous awards from disciplines such as demography, public health, and social work in recognizing her excellent research work.
