Salih Dogan

Researcher and PhD Candidate, Keele University

Salih Dogan is a researcher on International Relations and Political Science with particular reference to Security Studies, Eurasia, and South Asia. His main fields of interest are Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Central Asian countries; Taliban, Al-Qaeda, International Security, and Terrorism. He also has a keen interest in Turkish Politics, Turkish Foreign Policy, Kurdish Issue and the PKK. Dogan has received his Bachelor of Science degree from the Department of Business Administration at Middle East Technical University. Afterward, he moved to Texas, USA where he obtained his MBA degree in Strategic Management. He worked at the Center for Security Studies and Center for Eurasian Studies at the International Strategic Research Organization (USAK), an Ankara-based Turkish think-tank, for more than two years between 2008 and 2010. He worked at Turgut Özal University in Ankara, Turkey as a research and teaching assistant from March 2012 to June 2016. He has been a contributing analyst with Wikistrat since June 2015. He appeared at BBC World, Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC), TRT (Turkish Radio Television) and Voice of America. His opinion pieces, analysis and interviews have been published in Open Democracy, E-International Relations, Voice of America, SETimes.com, Eurasianet.org, T24, Birgün and Hurriyet Daily News. Currently, Dogan is a Ph.D. candidate at the School of Politics and International Relations (SPIRE) at Keele University, United Kingdom.
