Xiaomi Targets 120,000 SU7 Deliveries in 2024, Develops New SUV EV Model

Xiaomi's SU7 aims for 120,000 deliveries in 2024.

Xiaomi plans to ship 120,000 SU7 electric vehicles in 2024, marking a significant milestone for the company. As President Lu Weibing confirmed, a new sport utility vehicle (SUV) model is under development.

Xiaomi's Ambitious Delivery Targets

Gizmochina reports that Xiaomi anticipates shipping an astounding 120,000 units in 2024, as stated in its most recent financial report. This information is released following the company's previously declared objective of surpassing 100,000 deliveries for its inaugural model, the SU7.

President Lu Weibing of the organization has confirmed that a new electric vehicle (EV) model is in development, following numerous rumors regarding its product lineup.

During an earnings call, Xiaomi's president verified that the company is developing a new model while concentrating on delivering the Xiaomi SU7.

President Lu Weibing, in adherence to a strict confidentiality policy, has hinted that it's not yet the right time to unveil any details about the new model, adding an air of mystery and anticipation to the company's plans.

Development of Tesla-Like SUV

Bloomberg (via CnEVPost) reported that Xiaomi intends to manufacture and distribute an SUV comparable to Tesla's Model Y as early as 2025.

Bloomberg added that Xiaomi compared its envisioned SUV to Tesla's during development, citing a source with knowledge of the situation.

A source familiar with the matter told the report that Xiaomi does not anticipate the SUV being manufactured until late 2025 when the second phase of the company's assembly facility in Beijing is finished.

Long Life Cycle of the SU7

In another SU7 news, Xiaomi Auto founder Lei Jun mentioned the complete life cycle and 150,000 to 200,000 kilometers in a live broadcast on May 18. Certain Internet users erroneously concluded that the Xiaomi SU7's entire product lifecycle span was precisely those numbers.

CarNewsChina.com Xiaomi has since clarified the remarks. Xiaomi asserts that the number of SU7 test vehicles is ten times greater than the industry average and that the test mileage is between two and three times that of the industry.
