Fans cannot wait to see the first episodes of Law & Order: Organized Crime because it will mark the return of one of the most loved detectives, Elliot Stabler, played by Christopher Meloni.
Especially that NBC just announced the Law & Order: SVU spinoff’s inclusion in its 2020 fall schedule.
But, hold your horses as according to NBC, the new series will follow Stabler returning to the force because of a personal loss that was so devastating, as reported by People.
More worrisome that he would be returning so he could find absolution and start rebuilding his life.
So, does this mean that someone will die? Someone close to Stabler? And, basing on NBC's announcement, it could happen at the start of the series.
According to Cinemablend, Warren Leight, Law & Order: SVU showrunner, said that they originally planned to have Stabler's wife, Kathy, show up in the final episodes of season 21 because one of their sons had gotten into some trouble.
While this may no longer be the case literally, it seems that Stabler's return will still follow the same story arc.
One comforting thought though, we are sure that it will not be his old partner, Detective Olivia Benson played by Mariska Hargitay, as she will be leading Law & Order: SVU into its groundbreaking season 22.
Law & Order: SVU's 21st season already made history as the longest-running show on primetime TV. And, it looks like it will be holding on to that honor longer because the show has been renewed through to its 24th season.
It would be safe to speculate that if something devastating had to often that would force Stabler to go back into the force, then it'll probably involve his family.
As we can’t have it all, let’s just look forward to Det. Elliot Stabler’s return.
