When Sophie, the Countess of Wessex, married Prince Edward, the youngest son of Queen Elizabeth II, she became a senior member of the British Royal Family.
And, as such, she took on the role of a working royal, attending engagements all over the world representing the Queen of the United Kingdom.
As a senior royal member, the Countess of Wessex has to follow protocols and rules.
Especially when appearing in public, Sophie has to follow rules pertaining to the royal style.
That means opting for outfits that are conservative rather than those revealing fashion and shoes with heels that are not excessively high, a stylist told the Daily Express.
Trousers are frowned up for the royal ladies as it is preferred that they wear dresses and skirts that reach down to their calves.
These fashion rules, however, do not apply to Zara Tindall. Although she is a royal being the daughter of Princess Anne and granddaughter of Queen Elizabeth II, she is not a working royal. Even when she does appear at royal events sometimes.
Unlike her working royal kins, Zara had worked with brands in their advertising campaigns. One other thing that Zara can do that the serving royals are prohibited from is to receive clothes as gifts from designers.
This never seemed to be a problem for the Countess of Wessex anyway as she continued to delight fans most recently when she visited and volunteered at the St John Ambulance's Operational Support Hub.
Sophie donned the bright green T-shirt of St John Ambulance and paired it with white pants.
As the grand president of the St John Ambulance, the Countess of Wessex met the volunteers and thanked them for the incredible work that they have done since the start of the coronavirus pandemic.
She was also seen attending to PPE shipments to be delivered to the ambulance crew, hospital staff, specialist cleaners, and first aiders.
