Aaron Paul is one of the biggest additions to “Westworld” season 3’s ensemble. While details about his upcoming role are still scarce, the multi-awarded actor previously dished some teasers about his character.
Paul has been confirmed to join “Westworld” season 3 for months now. But the actor, as well as everybody else attached to the series, are keeping the character details tightly sealed. It can be recalled that the production of HBO’s hit sci-fi series reportedly started last month. This could explain why not much information has been released yet.
However, the “Breaking Bad” alum previously shared how excited he is about his upcoming role in “Westworld” season 3. "All I can say is it's par for the course. What is so great about Westworld is it's just so inventive and different and dangerous and gory, but this doesn't shy away from that, this particular new addition,” Paul told Digital Spy.
Meanwhile, fans may recall that the Park was practically left in ruins when season 2 ended and several important hosts successfully escaped. “Westworld” season 3 will pick up with Dolores (Evan Rachel Wood), Bernard (Jeffrey Wright), and Charlotte Hale (Tessa Thompson) exploring the real world along with other Control Units she smuggled out of the Park.
The identities of the Control Units that Dolores brought were left a mystery in the season 2 finale. But it is safe to assume that these belong to characters who have been introduced in the series. Some fans suggest that one of these belongs to Maeve (Thandie Newton) and there is also a small chance that Paul’s character is one of them.
Considering the expected plot in “Westworld” season 3, Paul could be a newly built host as Delos Inc is expected to rebuild the park. He could also be one important character that Dolores will be meeting in the real world. At this point, unfortunately, Paul’s role is still anybody’s guess.
As mentioned, “Westworld” season 3 is likely still in the early phase of filming and a series as complex as this usually takes months to finish despite having fewer episodes than seasons 1 and 2. In this case, a 2019 release date might not be happening.
