‘Westworld’ episode 5, entitled “Contrapasso”, is set to feature the meeting between the creator Dr. Ford and the Man in Black. Meanwhile, Evan Rachel Wood revealed what it was like to play a robot pretending to be human during a recent interview with Jimmy Kimmel.
According to /Film, the incoming episode is set to feature an exciting meeting between Anthony Hopkin’s Dr. Robert Ford and Ed Harris’ Man in Black. Ford is the brilliant yet mysterious creative director of Westworld while the Man in Black is an enigmatic and sadistic rich guest who is in the park searching for a deeper level.
The synopsis for episode 5 stated, “Dolores, William and Logan reach Pariah, a town built on decadence and transgression, and are recruited for a dangerous mission; The Man in Black meets an unlikely ally in his search to unlock the maze.”
In the promo, Ford and the Man in Black are face to face in what seems to be an intense meeting. Ford asks, “What is it you are hoping to find there?” Man in Black replies, “Something true.” The promo also featured a scene where Dolores (Evan Rachel Wood) meets with Ford about her latest dreams and one where she tears off a piece of her skin during a Day of the Dead-esque celebration in town.
Wood recently appeared on ‘The Tonight Show’ hosted by Jimmy Fallon and talked about what it was like to portray an intelligent android pretending to be a real human being. According to Time.com, she said, “There’s tons of things that make it trickier… I mean you have to ask different questions as an actor. And we ended up nicknaming them ‘bot thoughts.’”
She continued, “Because we would have moments where I’m like, ‘Do I squint in the sun? Am I affected by this? Is this part of my programming?’ So we would always have to stop and go ‘Ah, I got a bot thought. Is this analysis mode? Or character? Where am I right now?”
The new science-fiction and thriller television series created by Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy for HBO has seen a steady rise in viewership, according to Deadline.
