“Warcraft 3: Reforged” still doesn’t have a release date as Blizzard maintains its silence about the remaster. Even the beta version is still forthcoming, and there’s no telling when it will come out.
As such, it’s best to play on the Classic version for now until “Warcraft 3: Reforged” arrives. The remaster is only bringing in a fresh coat of paint anyway with minimal changes into the gameplay so the transition will be easy.
Well, as easy as they come for RTS players, at least. So what’s the popular race that is currently dominating at the moment? There’s no denying that even after “Warcraft 3: Reforged” launches, Night Elf will still be one of the most played factions in the game just because it’s pretty straightforward to use.
Warcraft 3: Reforged and the Orc issue
Indeed, the Schuck Cup Grand Final winner 14Sui utilize Night Elf’s strength dominantly when he faced against South Korea veteran FoCuS. While the Chinaman was phenomenal – going 3-1 in the best of five series – it did highlight another problem that “Warcraft 3: Reforged” needs to address.
The problem in question is the Orc buff that is sorely needed by the green-skinned warriors. The Orc representation has been few in both casual and professional players, favoring other factions like Night Elf, Undead, or Human. So if you’re planning to climb the ladder in “Warcraft 3: Reforged,” it’s best to stay away from Orc for now until such time that Blizzard provides a considerable upgrade to its units.
Warcraft 3: Reforged making it easier to find matches
And speaking of ladder, “Warcraft 3: Reforged” will be introducing the game into Blizzard’s Battle.net, making it easier for players to find matches and hone their skills. This feature is arguably the best addition that the developers have added into the remaster as it will bring the community closer and attract fresh blood into the fold.
Sure, the Classic version is already doing that what with 14Sui winning the Schuck Cup Grand Final at 17 years old. But if this scene is to blossom, it needs more young players. The good news is that “Warcraft 3: Reforged” has been creating a lot of waves into the RTS ecosystem with content creators like Back2Warcraft ensuring that the hype is sustained until the polish version hits the market.
When that will be is anyone’s guess at the moment, but there’s a big chance that Blizzard will release it in this year’s BlizzCon. Or at least, provide a concrete date when “Warcraft 3: Reforged” will be dropped. BlizzCon is slated to take place on Nov. 1 and 2.
