“Warcraft 3: Reforged” is set to inject new life to the beloved real-time strategy game by giving it better graphics and improved gameplay. Although the remaster will be staying true to its roots, Blizzard has eliminated a frustrating element that was present in the original game, Den of Geek reported.
The developers achieved this by giving “Warcraft 3: Reforged,” a smarter AI. In the previous version, units would usually bump into each other if you try to overwhelm your troops with multiple commands.
They’d also take disadvantageous routes that would usually spell disaster for a player, especially when a cluster of buildings is involved. Chokepoints, after all, is essential when trying to stifle the enemy’s advance. But in “Warcraft 3: Reforged,” this annoying element will no longer be a problem as it will supposedly deliver a smoother experience.
Of course, you’ll still need to proficiently control all your units as the AI can only do so much. Aside from a smarter AI and a fresh coat of paint, “Warcraft 3: Reforged” will also be adding the remaster into Battle.net.
This is by far the most exciting factor for the game as it will be easier to find opponents to hone one’s skills. It’s also expected that this new ladder system of “Warcraft 3: Reforged” will attract newer players into the community. And as the player base grows, it’s likely that it will pave the way to more tournaments in the future.
Regarding the reception of “Warcraft 3: Reforged,” there have been mix feelings from its following. One side is annoyed that Blizzard is putting all these efforts into a remaster rather than making “Warcraft 4.” Others are optimistic that this may be the company’s way of testing the market to see where the RTS title stands.
If the figure brought by “Warcraft 3: Reforged” satisfy the bigwigs of Blizzard, then it’s possible that it will pave the way into the development of “Warcraft 4.” At this point, however, nothing is certain just yet. Even its release date is still up for debate, although it’s likely that the remaster will be available in the latter months of 2019. The beta version will also drop before the game’s official launching. Those who are interested in playing the game early can follow this link to be eligible for such an opportunity.
