The Vivo X70 series is likely several months away from getting launched, but tech fans may already have a first look at its high-end model. A set of CAD renders and realistic-looking concept images have made their way online, hinting at some significant design changes for the Vivo X70 Pro+.
Long-time noted leaker Steve Hemmerstoffer, also known as OnLeaks, has shared several rendered images that reportedly show the full design of the Vivo X70 Pro+. Details about the upcoming device were also revealed in a Pricebaba report, suggesting that the phone could ship with a 6.7-inch display. And it could be the same for the X60 and X60 Pro, considering the entire Vivo X60 series has the same screen size.
The rear-facing camera array of the leaked Vivo X70 Pro+ appears larger than its predecessor’s. Vivo appears to be maintaining a quad-camera setup. The same report says the camera bump also houses a “laser autofocus unit,” along with the LED flash and the Zeiss logo. This suggests that Vivo’s partnership with Zeiss continues, and the latter will still collaborate with the smartphone maker in developing the camera tech for the high-end device.
And today, in order to wrap up my #Vivo X70 Series run, here comes your very first look at the #VivoX70ProPlus! (360° video + stunning 5K renders + dimensions)

However, the biggest surprise from the leak was the large blank space on the rear. It appears to be of the same size as the camera bump. The report is not certain what it is going to be, but many are already speculating that it could be a secondary screen similar to Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra.
If the large blank space ends up being a secondary screen, it might be a better version than what Xiaomi introduced simply for its size. The Mi 11 Ultra’s secondary display can be customized to display daily information like the time, date, and weather. But it can also mirror the content of the main screen, allowing users to even play games on the tiny display. And these could be some possible functions for the supposed secondary display of Vivo X70 Pro+.
Pricebaba also reported that the Vivo X70 Pro+ dimensions are 164.8 x 75.5 x 9mm, which are bigger than the Vivo X60 Pro+. But the report notes that the phone’s thickness could go up to 11.3mm on the camera bump area.
As for the Vivo X70 Pro+ release date, it is very likely to be set within the first half of 2022. Note that the X50 Pro+ was announced in June 2019, while the X60 Pro+ was unveiled last January.
