MALVERN, Pa., Oct. 10, 2017 -- Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE:VSH) today announced that its Vishay Siliconix SQJQ480E 80 V Automotive Grade TrenchFET® n-channel power MOSFET has been named by Electronic Products China magazine and 21IC as a winner in the 15th Annual Top-10 Power Product Awards. The AEC-Q101 qualified device was honored with the Green Energy Award in recognition of its high efficiency for automotive applications. This is the eighth consecutive year that a Vishay product has been chosen as an award winner.
The Top-10 Power Product Awards have become the industry benchmark for innovative power products, with winners being chosen based on their innovative design, significant advancement in technology or application, and substantial achievement in price and performance. The program also includes individual awards that recognize product achievements in five categories: Technology Breakthrough, Best Application, Optimized Development, Green Energy, and Independent Innovation.
Offered in the 8 mm by 8 mm by 1.8 mm PowerPAK® 8x8L package, the SQJQ480E is 58 % smaller than the D²PAK devices it will typically replace, saving PCB space and costs. Yet, with low maximum on-resistance down to 3.0 mΩ at 10 V and the lowest conduction losses ever achieved for an AEC-Q101 automotive qualified MOSFET, it can handle the same power conversion, switching, and motor control tasks just as efficiently.
To provide the ruggedness required for applications such as 48 V board-net power supplies, DC/DC converters, motor drives, and integrated belt starter generators, the SQJQ480E offers high temperature operation to +175 °C and is the industry’s first in its package size to feature gullwing leads for increased board-level reliability. With its small size, low maximum on-resistance, and 150 A continuous drain current, the MOSFET offers designers an easily scalable solution for applications requiring parallel devices to meet high power requirements.
The Electronic Products China Top-10 Power Product Awards were presented during a ceremony at the 2017 Power Technology Conference held on Sept. 15 in Beijing. Sales account manager Johnson Cheng accepted the award on behalf of Vishay.
