MALVERN, Pa., Jan. 07, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE:VSH) today announced that the company will be highlighting a wide range of products from its automotive product line at Automotive World 2016, taking place Jan. 13-15 at the Tokyo Big Sight in Tokyo. In booth W5-20, West Hall 1, Vishay will showcase industry-leading innovations — including passive components, diodes, power MOSFETs, and optoelectronics — designed to go beyond the stringent requirements of AEC qualification.
At Automotive World 2016, Vishay Siliconix will highlight the SQ Rugged Series of low-profile, high-power-density power MOSFETs for motor drives, electric power steering, transmission control, and injector drives. Featuring low on-resistance n- and p-channel TrenchFET® technologies, SQ Rugged Series MOSFETs are rated for a maximum junction temperature of +175 °C, offer a rugged silicon design, and are available in a wide range of space-saving packages, including the 8 mm by 8 mm by 1.8 mm PowerPAK® 8x8L. At the exhibition, Vishay Siliconix will also demonstrate the proven repetitive avalanche capability of its automotive Trench MOSFETs.
Vishay will highlight surface-mount rectifiers in low-profile packages for high-frequency inverters, freewheeling diodes, switching power supplies, OR-ing diodes, DC/DC converters, and polarity protection applications. Barrier Schottky, TMBS® Trench MOS barrier Schottky, dual high-voltage, ESD-capability, and glass-passivated rectifiers in SMF, SMPA, SMPD, and SMC packages will be on display.
Optoelectronics products from Vishay Semiconductors will include infrared (IR) receivers and emitters, ultra-bright LEDs in compact packages, optocouplers, photo detectors, reflective and interrupter optical sensors in through-hole and surface-mount packages, IrDA® transceivers with data rates up to 4 Mbit/s, and solid-state relays. Vishay will provide demonstrations of the VCNL4020X01 automotive integrated proximity and ambient light sensor; a gesture control sensor board featuring the VCNL4020 proximity sensor and two VSMF2890RGX01 infrared emitters; the VEML6030X01 UV light sensor; and the TCUT1600X01 transmissive optical sensor for infotainment applications.
Highlighted passive components will include Vishay’s latest capacitors, resistors, and inductors. Featured resistors will include Vishay Dale Power Metal Strip® devices with high power to 3 W and high-temperature operation to +275 °C for engine, transmission, audio, and climate controls; battery shunt resistors with 12 W power capability for hybrid and electric cars; and four-terminal devices for anti-lock brake controls and electric power steering. Vishay will display products and provide demonstrations of its thin film and MELF resistors and Power Metal Strip intelligent battery sensor.
Vishay Dale will also highlight IHLP® low-profile, high-current inductors in the 2525, 3232, and 4040 case sizes for engine and transmission control units, diesel injection drivers, entertainment and navigation systems, noise suppression for motors, windshield wipers, HID and LED lighting, heating and ventilation blowers, and power seats and mirrors. Vishay will conduct a demonstration of the IHLE-4040DC-5A inductor with an integrated e-field shield.
Capacitors on display will include Vishay BCcomponents AC-line-rated ceramic disc safety capacitors designed to provide high reliability for Class X1 (440 VAC) and Y2 (300 VAC) applications, as well as Vishay Vitramon surface-mount multilayer ceramic chip capacitors (MLCCs) in case sizes from 0402 to 1812 for boardnet management, power steering, and active safety controls. In addition, Vishay Sprague solid tantalum surface-mount chip capacitors will be on display with low ESR down to 0.100 Ω in five case codes.
Additional Vishay demonstrations featuring automotive products at Automotive World 2016 will include an electrical motor drive and full LED front lighting system for 48 V boardnets. Technical presentations will also be held at Vishay’s booth daily.
