There are speculations that “Vikings” season 6 might start airing in November 2019. Meanwhile, a possible plot featured in the sixth installment is the death of Rollo (Clive Standen).

History, the network that distributes the series, ordered “Vikings” season 6 in September 2017, a couple of months ahead of season 5’s premiere. But since the second half of season 5 has not yet aired, the release date for the sixth installment is still unknown.

However, in a report from Digital Spy, it is noted that History imposed a major change in the release schedule of the series. For season 1 to 3, the series returned every year from 2013 to 2015.

Since History bumped up the number of episodes from 10 to 20 starting with season 4, the network appeared to have decided to cut the series in two parts. Season 4 began in February 2016 while its part 2 only started in November of the same year. That, ultimately, pushed the premiere of season 5 to a year later. But a much longer gap is now anticipated for “Vikings” season 6.

Season 5 began in November 2017. However, its second half won't start until Nov. 28. Considering how History spaced out the release date of each season, this could mean that the first 10 episodes of “Vikings” season 6 will be released in November 2019.

Despite the expected time before “Vikings” season 6 is released, there are now speculations that another major character is going to face his doom. Ragnar’s (Travis Fimmel) resentful brother and Duke of Normandy, Rollo, is speculated to die in the sixth installment.

And while his death is still unconfirmed, fans have already jumped to conclusions on how his final days on the show will go. Speculating on a character’s death is not too tricky since “Vikings” is largely based on historical stories about Norse warriors.

In Rollo’s case, however, actor Clive Standen warned fans not to expect the obvious. The actor noted that the real-life Rollo died of old age. But he described the character's last moments as “fascinating” in an interview with Express.co.uk. The actor then implied that the character is staying for a long period.

“Who knows but he’s not going anywhere quickly. He won’t get taken down in battle or anything like that,” Standen added. “Rollo died from old age, so who knows how far his tale will go with ‘Vikings.’”
