Vanessa Hudgens and Nina Dobrev are both starring in an upcoming film, titled “Dog Days.” But before that movie gets released, the two were seen together posing for the cover of Cosmopolitan magazine, where they also briefly talked about the #MeToo movement.
Cosmopolitan unveiled the cover of its September issue featuring Hudgens and Dobrev on Wednesday. As pointed out by the magazine, the two actresses share a lot in common. For one, they are both about to reach the age of 30 — Hudgens this coming December and Dobrev in January 2019.

Vanessa Hudgens and Nina Dobrev both started out their Hollywood careers as young teenagers and have been fashion icons for the young girls who watched them throughout their careers. They are also both very well-known for their TV and film roles: Hudgens as Gabriella Montez in Disney’s “High School Musical” franchise while Dobrev as Mia Jones in “Degrassi: The Next Generation.”
Meanwhile, when asked about their personal experiences in relation to the #MeToo movement, the actresses had different responses. Asked about personal #MeToo encounters, Nina Dobrev said, “Like any woman in every industry, yes. Comments have been made. People have said things that are inappropriate. I’ve been able to handle myself and speak up for the most part. But I have seen a lot.”
On the other hand, Vanessa Hudgens admitted to having a different experience saying, “I have been very fortunate not to have had any direct run-ins, but I’ve seen it happen. I’m grateful that we’re living in an age when women are finally heard.”
The #MeToo movement emerged as a rallying call for women who have been victims of all forms of abuse, sexual assault, and harassment. The campaign aims to encourage victims to speak up, call out their abusers, and empower other victims to do the same.
The campaign gained more popularity in 2017 after an online campaign of using the hashtag #MeToo was supported by a lot of high-profile Hollywood personalities following the Harvey Weinstein scandal. But the first-ever use of the tagline is being attributed to social activist Tarana Burke.
In other news, Vanessa Hudgens and Nina Dobrev will be sharing the big screen for the family comedy film “Dog Days” slated to premiere on Wednesday, Aug. 8. Hudgens and Dobrev are also joined by Eva Longoria in the movie. Plot details are scarce but its official video teaser suggests that the movie revolves around the intertwined lives of dog owners living in Los Angeles.
