Under Armour recently showcased the enhanced performance of its Drive Pro Series footwear at the PGA Show Demo Day. Live data testing validated the remarkable improvements these shoes offer to golfers seeking to elevate their game.
Performance Gains and Data Validation
Golf Business News reported that media and PGA Professionals witnessed substantial performance gains during the testing. The Full Swing KIT launch monitor provided data metrics, revealing ball speed, club head speed, and carry distance increases. Over 50 testers participated, showcasing the effectiveness of the new Drive Pro and Drive Pro SL models compared to their current footwear.
Impressive Test Results
On average, testers experienced significant improvements. Total carry increased by 11 yards, clubhead speed by 2.5mph, and ball speed by 4mph. Those using a driver saw even more substantial gains, with a total carry increase of 13.1 yards and a clubhead speed rise of 2.9mph.
Notable figures like James Tait, the third-place finisher in the World Long Drive Championship, tested the Drive Pro SL shoes. Tait's trial results were exceptional, with a 31-yard increase in total carry, a 10.7mph gain in ball speed, and a 7.4mph increase in clubhead speed compared to his current footwear.
After switching to the Drive Pro shoes, Golf Monthly's editor, Neil Tappin, showcased a 14-yard carry gain and a 10mph ball speed increase with a 7-Iron. These results highlight the consistent performance enhancements offered by the Drive Pro Series.
Innovative Design Features
The Drive Pro Series, as per Bunkered, stands out for its advanced features, including the Swing Support System developed in collaboration with biomechanist JJ Rivet. This system optimizes the golf swing's natural movement, providing comfort, traction, and support in a single design.
Golf enthusiasts can now experience the Drive Pro Series globally, with the Drive Pro priced at $170 and £150 and the Drive Pro SL at $150 and £130. These premium golf shoes are available for purchase on UA.com and at select regional Golf retailers
