SAN JOSE, Calif., March 29, 2017 -- Ubiquiti Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ:UBNT) ("Ubiquiti") today announced the UniFi AC In-Wall Wi-Fi Access Point, designed to expand an Ethernet wall connection to also function as a dual-band 802.11ac Wi-Fi access point. “The UniFi AC In-Wall AP is an ideal solution for schools, hospitals and hotels that are pre-wired with wall phones or Ethernet jacks,” said Brandon Gilles, UniFi Team Lead at Ubiquiti. “It is an affordable and convenient way to add per-room Wi-Fi to an existing wired network without having to run new wires for costly ceiling installations. The leading UniFi software platform gives administrators full control over their entire network – all within a single interface and without any added costs."
Easily Turns Wired Ethernet Jacks into Wireless Access Points
The UniFi AC In-Wall AP provides each room with its own coverage, allowing system administrators to easily manage individual Wi-Fi access for users such as hotel guests, students or patients. It simply replaces existing Ethernet or phone jacks and can be configured in under 60 seconds through the intuitive UniFi smartphone app.
Unlimited Scalability
Unlike 2.4 GHz-only solutions, the 5 GHz radio of the UniFi AC In-Wall AP allows unlimited scalability for hotels, hospitals, schools and other businesses from one room to thousands. Two Gigabit Ethernet ports are available to connect wired devices, one of which delivers PoE to power and connect a VoIP phone, security camera or other device.
UniFi Controller Offers Advanced Management Options
Unlike traditional enterprise Wi-Fi systems that use a hardware controller, UniFi comes bundled with a non-dedicated software controller that can be deployed on an on‐site PC, Mac, or Linux machine; in a private cloud; or using a cloud service. Easily accessible through any standard web browser or iOS/Android apps, the UniFi Controller software features an intuitive yet powerful user interface. It allows users to quickly configure and administer an entire enterprise Wi-Fi network within one interface and provides visibility and controls for high‐density client deployments requiring low latency and high uptime performance.
The UniFi Controller also provides advanced guest management of both wireless and wired users, including deep packet inspection for application-level analytics. Admins can apply different bandwidth rates (download/upload), limit total data usage, and limit duration of use. An intuitive control dashboard helps users keep track of network security with constant reporting.
The UniFi Controller software is available from www.ubnt.com at no extra charge – there is no separate software, licensing, or support fee.
