Latest primaries in five U.S. states, with which 50% of the states now covered, Donald Trump is clearly in the best position to win the Republican nomination and if he wins the final and keep to his election promises, that could be boost for housing markets in Mexico and Canada.
Donald Trump’s electoral campaign has been full of controversies so far but biggest ones that stand out are –
- Building wall across Mexican border to prevent illegal immigration.
- Mass deportation of illegal migrants, which are largely from Mexico.
- Ban Muslims temporarily from entering US.
If he keeps to his promise, then that could be a mass movement to Mexico, which in turn means higher demand for housings in that country.
A recent survey done by Vox suggests, even people who are legal may leave the country, if Donald Trump gets elected as president.
While majority consider staying in the US, almost 27% say that they might move to country like Canada. Almost 15% said, they are very likely to move out.
Well that can be a boost for Canada’s housing market too.
