U.S. President Donald Trump on Monday called on Congress to pass a bill increasing funding to enhance border security. Speaking to House Republicans at his Doral resort in Miami, Trump emphasized the need to align his policy priorities with a legislative agenda.
“I look forward to working with Congress on a reconciliation bill that secures funding to fully and permanently restore the sovereign borders of the United States,” Trump stated.
The president outlined a proposal for increased funding to support border security personnel, retention bonuses for Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents, and additional border patrol officers. He also stressed the importance of allocating resources for more detention beds, improved border infrastructure, and the completion of the U.S.-Mexico border wall.
Trump’s push for heightened border security aligns with his long-standing commitment to enforcing immigration laws and strengthening national sovereignty. The proposed funding aims to enhance border protection measures and ensure the safety and security of the nation.
As discussions with Congress progress, the president seeks to secure the necessary financial backing to implement his border security plans effectively.
