Parties are supposed to be fun, where attendees can let loose and relax. However, one ESPY afterparty thrown by former Cleveland Cavalier player LeBron James involved a brawl. The kerfuffle apparently stemmed from the Tristan Thompson, Draymond Green beef that spilled out of the court. Even now, details as to exactly what happened are still coming in.
As Newsweek notes, the Tristan Thompson, Draymond Green issue started escalating in the NBA Finals. After Thompson was ejected from the court in Game 1, he shoved the ball into Green’s face. This resulted in the latter offering to take their problem to the streets. As it turns out, Thompson chose the party venue to take Green up on his offer.
With regards to the details of this latest Tristan Thompson, Draymond Green matter, most of the reports appear to agree that Thompson was the one to throw the first punch. However, a report by The Athletic seems to indicate that it was more of a push or rather, a “face mush” than an actual punch. On the other hand, there were also those who said that it could have been a one-two combo.
What is clear, however, is that fellow players had to jump in and break up the fight. Afterward, it would seem that the Tristan Thompson, Draymond Green situation calmed down and the party simply carried on. There didn’t seem to be any significant injuries that resulted from the issue, but it’s clear that the two need to have this problem resolved before it escalates even further.
It’s also a sad state of affairs that the Tristan Thompson, Draymond Green fight had to happen during a celebration. Then again, it would appear that some players thought that Green deserved to get hit. It was also a fortunate turn of events for the players that there were no cameras allowed during the party.
