‘Timeless’ season 1’s episode 5, entitled “The Alamo”, will follow Lucy, Rufus, and Wyatt as they pursue Flynn in 1836 Texas during the battle of the Alamo.
The synopsis for episode 5 posted on K Site TV stated, “After one member’s fired from the team, Flynn (Goran Visnjic) returns to a pivotal event in the war over Texas-the Battle of the Alamo. Our team finds themselves stranded inside the famous fort, surrounded by Mexican soldiers, knowing that everyone inside is fated to die. Now, with no hope of rescue and facing insurmountable odds, the trio of heroes learns the meaning of trust and sacrifice from people prepared to die for those around them.”
The battle of the Alamo was considered one of the most crucial events in U.S. history. It took place from February 23 to March 6, 1836 and was deemed an important part of the Texas revolution. An estimated 400–600 soldiers were killed and wounded during the event.
The Alamo became the subject of numerous non-fiction works including film and television adaptations such as Disney’s miniseries from the 1950s, ‘Davy Crockett’, and the 1960 historical war film ‘The Alamo’, which was directed and produced by John Wayne. Wayne also starred in the film as Davy Crockett.
It seems that Lucy (Abigail Spencer), Wyatt (Matt Lanter), and Rufus (Malcolm Barett) will be exploring this point in time as they attempt to go after the time-traveling fugitive Garcia Flynn, as he attempts to change American history.
According to Carter Matt, the series has already taken Lucy and the boys to various crucial moments in history including the Hindenburg disaster in Germany in episode 1, the assassination of Abraham Lincoln in episode 2, 1962 Las Vegas in the wake of atomic testing in episode 3, and Nazi-occupied Germany in 1944 in episode 4.
‘Timeless’ season 1’s episode 5, entitled “The Alamo”, is scheduled to premiere on NBC on October 31, 2016. The new science-fiction and drama series was created by Shawn Ryan of ‘The Shield’ and Eric Kripke of ‘Supernatural’. It is executive produced by Ryan, Kripke, John Davis, John Fox, Marney Hochman, and Neil Marshall.
It follows an unlikely trio composed of a history professor, a scientist, and a soldier, as they travel through time to stop a criminal mastermind from changing the course of American history forever.
