‘This Is Us’ Season 3 Return Date, Spoilers: Kevin, Kate & Randall’s Future Foreshadowed in Previous Episodes?

“This Is Us” season 3 has shown its fans a new approach in telling the Pearson family’s story. And one of the actors hinted that the future of Kevin (Justin Hartley), Kate (Chrissy Metz), and Randall (Sterling K. Brown) have likely been foreshadowed in the previous episodes.

In the first two seasons of the NBC family drama, the show effectively told the characters’ stories and developments by jumping through their past and their present lives. But “This Is Us” season 3 introduced a new approach by also moving forward and weaving the characters’ future lives into the storyline.

So, now, the viewers have more mysteries to unravel such as what the past and present events tell them about the characters’ future. Actor Logan Shroyer, who portrays teenage Kevin, advised fans to review episodes 1 through 9 of “This Is Us” season 3 because many clues might be hidden in these installments.

Shroyer told TVLine recently, “I can just say that if anybody wants to do the research and look back at scenes and things that are discussed, like what is Sophie doing, and where Kate’s dreams lie and stuff like that, you can probably deduce what’s going to happen, or some possibility of what’s going to happen.” Sophie (Alexandra Breckenridge [adult] and Amanda Leighton [teenage]), as fans may recall, was Kevin’s first love who later became his wife. They got back together years after their divorce but that did not end well either.

In the same interview, Shroyer insisted that writers of “This Is Us” season 3 are “very specific” about the details they include in every scene. This means that the things and events showed even in the past might be foreshadowing what awaits in the future.

Interestingly, Kevin is now with Zoe (Melanie Liburd). But there was still a scene in “This Is Us” season 3 where Sophie looks after a drunk Kevin in the late ‘90s. Does this mean Sophie would still play a part in Kevin’s future despite his present relationship with Zoe?

“This Is Us” season 3 ended the fall finale with a very shocking twist, that would most probably make Jack (Milo Ventimiglia) roll in his grave. This will likely play a major part in everyone’s life once the show returns on Tuesday, Jan. 15 on NBC.
