‘The Walking Dead’ season 7’s episode 11, titled “Hostiles and Calamities," will shift its focus to Negan and his Saviors as he returns with a vengeance. Negan’s group will go on a vengeful hunt for Daryl after discovering his escape from the Sanctuary.
The brief synopsis for “Hostiles and Calamities” posted on TV Guide reads, “An Alexandrian must navigate the mysterious world within the Saviors' compound.”
The upcoming episode will feature the highly-anticipated return of Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s villainous Negan since the series’ midseason break. The previous episodes may have focused on Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and his friends’ attempts at rallying enough allies for the imminent war against Negan and his notorious gang of survivors, but the show will now shift focus on Negan and the happenings at the Sanctuary.
Episode 10, titled "New Best Friends," followed Rick as he befriended Jadis (Pollyanna McIntosh) and got her group called the Scavengers to join him in his cause. Jadis initially refused to help Rick and insisted that he prove his worth by fighting a walker. After Rick killed the walker, Jadis agreed to become an ally in exchange for supplies as well as guns.
During an interview with Comicbook.com, McIntosh talked about her character’s possible meeting with Morgan’s Negan. She said, "There'd be a lot of black, wouldn't there?.. I don't think I'd like Negan at all. His pride and his arrogance would really get in the way, as far as I'm concerned. I would think he would be somebody who would need to be taken down, you know?"
According to the Independent, the upcoming episode will feature events that took place in the Sanctuary right after Negan’s right-hand man Dwight (Austin Amelio) finds out about Daryl’s (Norman Reedus) escape. It seems that Negan and his men will be all too determined to hunt down Daryl and make him suffer the consequences of his actions.
The new episode will also pick up after the Saviors’ return from the confrontation at Alexandria, which left Spencer (Austin Nichols) and Olivia (Ann Mahoney) dead and Eugene (Josh McDermitt) abducted.
‘The Walking Dead’ season 7’s episode 11, titled “Hostiles and Calamities," is scheduled to air on AMC on February 26, 2017. It was directed by Kari Skogland. It will be followed by episode 12, titled "Say Yes", directed by Greg Nicotero and scheduled to be released on March 5.
