He discovered along the way that magic is actually real and if handled incorrectly, could harm people. His friend, Julia got denied of admission and was bound to have her memory wiped but was able to resist the power. She is then contacted by another person who will offer her a way to learn magic without attending Brakebills.
The upcoming episode will be much exciting as the official synopsis released by the team says "Alice and Quentin investigate what happened to her brother when he died five years previously. Julia struggles to balance learning magic with maintaining her previous life. Eliot searches for a missing book, which leads him and Quentin to the hedge witches, where Quentin confronts Julia.
