The wait for “The Irregular at Magic High School” season 2 is now down to just a few weeks, and fans outside Japan can watch the new episodes as well. It was recently confirmed that the anime’s return will be available in other regions through online streaming.
‘The Irregular at Magic High School’ season 2 where to watch
The latest trailer of “The Irregular at Magic High School” season 2 was released recently to mark the anime’s looming premiere. The promo video runs for almost two minutes and offers the most teasers fans have ever seen for the show’s return on the air.
In the video description on YouTube, through AniplexUS, it is confirmed that the “The Irregular at Magic High School” season 2 will be released outside Japan “exclusively” through Funimation. Unfortunately, the streaming platform’s service is only available in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand. That leaves a huge fanbase in Asia in limbo on where they can officially watch the new episodes.
It is unclear just how exclusive are the streaming rights of Funimation, especially in regions where it is not available. In the case of the second season of “Kaguya-sama: Love Is War,” its episodes were also initially said to be “exclusive” on Funimation. But a few weeks later, new episodes were later released in regions where Funimation is not available. Netflix and Wakanim released new episodes of the said show in Southeast Asia and some parts of Europe, respectively. However, Funimation offered a simulcast service while the episodes were released about two weeks later on the other platforms.
As for this writing, no such arrangement has been announced by either Netflix or Wakanim. But this is one of the best cases that worldwide fans could for “The Irregular at Magic High School” season 2.
‘The Irregular at Magic High School’ season 2 release date
The first episode of “The Irregular at Magic High School” season 2 will be released on Saturday, Oct. 3. The premiere should also be available on Funimation on the same day.
This is an important day for the avid fans of Tsutomu Sato’s series since it took more than five years before the anime renewal was confirmed. “The Irregular at Magic High School” season 2 will only have fewer episodes, though, as it only covers the events in the Visitor Arc. Expect the series to explore occult themes such as vampires in this season along with the canon plot introduction of Angelina Kudou Shields.
