A new trailer for “The Good Doctor” Season 2 was just released and it promises some truly tense moments for Shaun (Freddie Highmore). It seems mistakes are going to be made in this new chapter of the talented doctor’s life, with some profound changes waiting for him. A new character will also be making their way into the show who will be very familiar to fans of medical dramas on TV.
The new trailer for “The Good Doctor” Season 2 provides some good insights into what fans can expect from the show going forward. Shaun reveals that he made a mistake, with the dramatic sound of flat-lining accompanying this statement. Suffice it to say, depending on how big of an error it was, this could spell a lot of trouble for the lovable surgeon.
The clip also reveals that Dr. Aaron Glassman has cancer and will need to undergo treatment. The oncologist who will be treating him will be Dr. Blaize and she will be played by Lisa Edelstein. Fans of the medical comedy/drama “House” will be familiar with the actress’ work since she played Dr. Lisa Cuddy in that series. Her role in “The Good Doctor” Season 2 seems to be keeping Dr. Glassman alive.
Not too much about the oncologist was shown in the trailer, except to establish that she is one of the best cancer specialists around. As such, she is not likely to cave under the domineering attitude of Dr. Glassman, Cinemablend notes.
As for those who might have been hoping for a development in Shaun’s love life, unfortunately, the trailer doesn’t seem to indicate any development. It’s to be expected that someone with autism like Shaun will have difficulty forming romantic relationships. However, “The Good Doctor” Season 2 might show some hope in this regard when it premieres on Sept. 24.
