“The Curse of Oak Island” season 6 episode 18 will reveal something new and it appears that Rick and Marty Lagina along with their crew are getting closer to the Money Pit where the trove of treasures are believed to be buried. However, there is sad news, it was reported that long-time treasure hunter of Oak Island, Dan Blankenship, passed away on Sunday, March 17.
According to Entertainment Tonight Canada, the star of “The Curse of Oak Island” died at the age of 95. The cause of his death was not mentioned but probably his old age contributed to it.
Dan Blakenship was originally a resident of the United States but he moved to Nova Scotia in 1965 due to his fascination with the stories about the Oak Island. Since then, he is known to have dedicated the rest of his life to the search of the treasures.
With his knowledge and a long history of being involved in the hunt for the fabled wealth, Rick and Marty Lagina signed him up for the reality series. The brothers know that he and his son would be of great help to their hunt so Blakenship started to appear in the show until his last appearance in the “The Curse of Oak Island” season 6. The cast and crew expressed their condolences to the Blakenship family through a post on their official Facebook page.
At any rate, the upcoming “The Curse of Oak Island” season 6 episode 18 is titled “Heavy Metal” and its synopsis reads: “An unexpected discovery strengthens Oak Island's connection to the Knights Templar.”
“The Curse of Oak Island” season 6 episode 18 will surely be fascinating to watch because it appears that there is really a connection between the Knights Templar and the island. The more items are discovered, the more the legendary stories are revealed to be truths and not just simple hearsays or tales told by the seniors.
