“The Blacklist” season 6 episodes 18 and 19 will be airing on the same night as a two-hour event. Teasers are suggesting these could finally explain the real connection between the ever-mysterious Russian spy Katarina Rostova (Lotte Verbeek) and Raymond Reddington (James Spader).
The two-hour installment begins with “The Blacklist” season 6 episode 18 titled “The Brockton College Killer” that already hints at another unidentified Blacklister. This also means that fans will see the Task Force working on a case for the first hour of the night.
Meanwhile, the definite link between “The Blacklist” season 6 episode 18 and episode 19 could be happening through Reddington and Ressler (Diego Klattenhoff). Reddington visits Katarina’s father, Dom (Brian Dennehy), to seek help in “making a difficult decision.” Could this be related to finding out that Dembe has been betraying him? Red is visibly more resolved on killing anyone who knows about the person who sold him to the cops. The complication is Liz called the police on him, and Dembe (Hisham Tawfiq) knew it early on but continues to cover for her.
On the other hand, Ressler will continue on his investigation of Katarina and is slated to make a substantial discovery within the first hour of the night. Whatever Ressler finds out about Liz’s (Megan Boone) mother, it could lead to a flashback sequence of Katarina running away from men hunting her down in “The Blacklist” season 6 episode 19. This is the point where he would call “a man who has vowed to always protect her” that is obviously a reference to Reddington.
Since the first season, the mystery of Liz’s parenthood has been at the center of the series. It is quite established now that Katarina is her biological mother. But then there are more puzzles to who Katarina really was. There is even a lingering theory that Katarina and Reddington could be identities of the same person. After more than half a decade of putting the pieces together, fans can only hope that “The Blacklist” season 6 episode 18 and episode 19 would finally provide some clear answers.
The two-hour event happens on Friday, April 26 on NBC. “The Blacklist” season 6 episode 18 starts at 8 p.m. ET followed immediately by episode 19 at 9 p.m. ET.
