‘The Big Bang Theory’ season 10’s episode 9 entitled, “The Geology Elevation”, will find Sheldon overcome with jealousy over not getting picked for a grant. Meanwhile, Christopher Lloyd of ‘Back to the Future’ fame is set to guest star in an upcoming December episode.
The synopsis for episode 9 posted on Carter Matt stated, “When Bert (Brian Posehn), a Caltech geologist, wins the MacArthur Genius fellowship, Sheldon (Jim Parsons) is overcome with jealousy. Also, Wolowitz (Simon Helberg) finds an old remote control Stephen Hawking action figure he invented.”
In the incoming episode, Sheldon will succumb to jealousy over a grant his co-worker Bert will be receiving. Sheldon is known for his competitive nature and tends to look down on people thinking he is more superior to all of them. It seems that his pride will be challenged as the MacArthur Genius grant is going to someone else.
The promo opens with Sheldon complaining to Leonard (Johnny Galecki), “I can’t believe I was surpassed by a Geologist. If rock is so great, how come paper beats it?” It seems that Sheldon’s jealousy may push Sheldon to the limits, even bringing Leonard down with him. In the next scene, the two enter the apartment injured – with Sheldon limping and Leonard with a peice of tissu stuck up his nose.
They are met by Penny (Kaley Cuoco) and Amy (Mayim Biyalik), who look shocked. Sheldon shrieks after flopping down on the couch, “I tried to let go of anger and threw a rock into my foot!”
Penny turns to Leonard and asks, “And what happened to you?” Leonard dismisses his injury saying, “I laughed so hard I burst a blood vessel in my nose.”
In another storyline, Wolowitz will find an old toy that he invented. Stephen Hawking himself will guest-star in the episode as well as John Ross Bowie, according to Blasting News.
Meanwhile, Christopher Lloyd is set to guest star in the December 1 episode of the popular sitcom, according to The Hollywood Reporter. His role on the show is yet to be revealed. Executive producers Chuck Lorre, Bill Prady and Steven Molaro said in a joint statement, "We’re so excited to be working with Christopher Lloyd, and think we’ve created a fun part that fans will really enjoy.”
The legendary comedian and Emmy award-winning actor is best known for playing Dr. Emmett “Doc” Brown on the iconic ‘Back to the Future’ films. He also played Jim Ignatowski on the comedy series ‘Taxi’, where he won two Primetime Emmy Awards.
‘The Big Bang Theory’ season 10’s episode 9 entitled, “The Geology Elevation”, is scheduled to air on CBS on November 17, 2016. It was directed by Mark Cendrowski with a story by Chuck Lorre, Erik Kaplan, and Maria Ferrari.
